We implement our teaching and learning philosophy by creating environments that reflect
the realities of the game and place players at the center of the learning process. Coaches design game-based practices that promote decision-making, problem-solving, creativity,
and ownership while providing appropriate levels of challenge and support.

 

To ensure alignment across the club, coaches are introduced to the philosophy through onboarding and supported through ongoing coach development workshops, mentoring, observation and feedback cycles, licensing pathways, and collaborative learning opportunities.

 

Coach education focuses on practical application, including session design, guided discovery, questioning techniques, creating representative game environments, and using overloads
and underloads to influence learning.

 

We support implementation through regular field observations, coach reflections, video analysis, and one-to-one feedback conversations. These processes help coaches understand not only what the philosophy is, but what it looks like in practice and how it should be applied within their specific age group and environment.
 

We continuously evaluate environments by asking:

• Does the activity reflect the realities of the game?

• Are players making decisions and solving problems independently?

• Are coaches facilitating learning rather than directing every action?

• Are players engaged, challenged, and supported appropriately for their age and stage?

Through ongoing education, mentoring, observation, and reflection, we strive to ensure our philosophy is consistently understood, applied, and experienced throughout the player pathway.
